When to switch to IE7?
Of course I check sites I make in a whole suite of browsers - but when should I update my main development machine (Windows XP) to IE7? I’ve decided to base that answer on my employers main website and a Google Analytics report.
Drilling down visitors to a specific browser, I can get a week by week analysis of what percentage of visitors are using different versions of Internet Explorer - which has been out to the public for almost a year.
On a side note - people around the company are already having issues with the deployment of IE7. The first one that affected me was a user that had left their date selection as En-US, forcing Reporting Services to use US date selection.
Oh - the currents stats are 63% IE6, 36% IE7, and the other 1% is made up of the other IE versions - down to IE4!
UPDATE 24th Sept: In 2 weeks the stats have changed to pretty much 60% IE6 to 40% IE7, not a bad deployment rate for Microsoft.
