MW2 builds, part 2
Back in my first post about MW2 builds I focused a lot on the SCAR assault rifle in combination with scavenger perk. While I do still feel that’s a strong combination, I’ve found myself drifting away from scavenger and more towards OMA (One Man Army). Here’s my current builds:
Ghost: Silenced UMP45, claymores, stuns, OMA, Cold Blooded, Ninja
Loud: TAR-21 FMJ, claymores, stuns, OMA, Stopping Power, Sitrep
Anti-air: Silenced TAR-21, stingers, smoke, Sleight of Hand, Cold Blooded, Ninja
Long: M14A1 Red Dot, claymores, stuns, OMA, Stopping Power, Sitrep
Bang: SCAR w/ nade launcher, semtex, smoke, OMA, Danger Close, Sitrep
Rush: Silenced UMP45, semtex, smoke, OMA, Lightweight, Ninja
So yes, I do use OMA a lot.
Benefits of One Man Army classes:
- You get infinite equipment and ammo
- You can change your class as often as you like to suit the circumstances.
- You can switch to a Cold Blooded class while enemy UAV or killstreaks are up
- You can switch to an explosive or FMJ class when you know an enemy is occupying a building
Compared to Scavenger:
- OMA uses up the secondary weapon slot. A big drawback but it is manageable.
- Scavenger lets you absorb new ammo faster, but requires you to be nearer the enemy. OMA suits longer distances. That’s especially useful with Search and Destroy matches, since the enemy will know where their team mate died.
- You don’t get the extra ammo clip given with Scavenger Pro
Overall, I’d say OMA best suits slower paced games such as defending in Search and Destroy, since it allows you to quickly set up defences with claymores and C4. I find it works equally well in Team Deatchmatch and other gametypes too, although that does increase the chance of getting caught with your pants down trying to switch class.
